Adventures in Spain: Ode to Football

It has been four years or more,
since I kicked a ball in anger.
And I ventured out on Friday last,
draped in my dodgy shorts
to run and pant
to wheeze and splutter,
to gasp and shriek and roar like a madman at scared Spaniards.

So. Here I sit.
My arse hurts. My legs hurt. My back hurts.
My neck hurts. My face hurts. My feet hurt.
My ankle hurts. My balls hurt.

I have hurts in places that I didn't know there were places.
But I feel fucking great.

I play football. HEAR ME ROAR!!!
