It really does. First a new poll shows that an alarming number of people have little or no faith in the Gardai. And, to be honest, who can blame them when a piece in the Irish Times tells us that yesterday a court in Mayo was told that a Garda requested €30,000 to stop a case from appearing before the courts.

In addition, that old war horse Beverly Cooper Flynn is to appear before the Dail to explain her role in her fathers affairs after allegations that she helped him evade tax.

Add to this, a story from the Indo claiming that a top FF mandarin with close links to Bertie is up for sexual assault.

I have to say that this does precious little to encourage me to live in Ireland again...
